anyone runnin em? My "flowmasters" are old and if you pick em up an look in the inlet you can see out the inlet - all the baffles are rusted out so basically it is not a muffler anymore :)

My dad had some on his v8 280z a few months back. They have
a deep sound just like a dynomax. They are real queit if thats what you are after. He ended up going to some flows for a more
raspy sound:D

3" eh? I was thinkin 2 1/2"

Stock on my engine was 2 1/2" then I went and put on the early 289 manifolds and those are only 2" so I am actually using less than stock on it :(

Ran one on my 4 cyl YJ, worked well. I'm looking at running a pair for my 5.0L CJ.

does that mean the 2.5" would have like 2" inside?

I ran a set on my old 79. They were very reasonable on tone. They held up for 2+ years of Short Trip DD before I sold the truck. I would recommend them. Currently have a set of the fully welded Summit mufflers on the Burb. For a small body muffler, they are surprisingly quiet. A little louder after the Cam/Head swap. Getting more mid-range Cackle out of the old girl.:D

The part # for the Summit muffler is SUM-630125
it has 2-1/2" offset inlet/center outlet,
18-1/2" overall length. $14.75.

Summit's 2-1/2" fully welded muffler #SUM-630325
$38.69

Right next to those in the cataloge is the Thrush Turbo
mufflers #WLK-17715 2-1/2" center inlet/ offset outlet
18-1/2" overall length $16.95

I'm going to go with the Thrush Mini Turbo it has
2"offset inlet/center outlet 16" overall length
#WLK-17702 $16.95

Thrush also has a 28" long 2-1/2 glasspack muffler
#WLK-24214 $17.95

Hope that helps you

I got one of those and promptly blew it up - Phillips 66 sold me a tank of leaves with some gas in it. It did have a nice tone, some on the quiet side. Now that I can see inside clearly, it does seem to be all heavy-gauge, double wall, etc. and a pretty decent looking muffler. It opened up on the rolled seam at the back end, which makes me think that a fully welded mufler would've survived. Right now I'm doing the Thrush/Flowmaster debate.

COYOTE ... Where in Chandler are ya?!? I was just about to start the $ hunt for a set of flows for my :jeep:. 2.5 sounds like they should work well. I had 'em on my 86 5.slow and they sounded :cartmanvoice:shweeet, especially when I stuffed the offroad H-pipe on her. That tone and drone makes me drool. THANKS!!

...I'm pretty sure you don't need the receipts for AZ warranties anymore, at least not here. I returned a clutch matster yesterday and they had all the info on their system, no receipt needed.

I had Thrush packs on my 2.8l S10 and '61 F100. They both had a nice sound, by no means ricey.
