: A Few Of My Own Moab Pics!
Box Rocket 05-13-2002, 02:48 PM I thought I'd throw up a small group of my pics from Moab. I hardly took any pictures this trip and this is about all I have, at least of my truck.
This was the maiden voyage with the new Alcans. I was pleased with how they worked out especially since they really aren't broken in yet, even after the trip. When I ramped my truck just after installing the springs so that I could get shock measurements, I decided to get shocks two inches longer than what I measured to leave room for when the springs broke in. Well, even with 2" longer shocks than what I measured, I think my front shocks are limiting wheel travel. I'll be ramping it again soon to see if that is really the case.
Anyway, here are some shots from Moab Rim on Saturday during Cruise Moab.

Sloan 05-13-2002, 05:11 PM So how are the Alcans working so far? I have the super stiff MAF 4" springs and am looking for something a little flexier. :D

What did you use for the lower hood latch mount when you moved them to fit the 70 series lights? Any pics? Thanks
Ross

Box Rocket 05-14-2002, 11:11 AM Thanks for the compliments on the pics.
Ross, when I did the 70 series lights I just drilled out the spot welds on the hood latches and rewelded them a few inches back. Worked out really well.
Rather than getting into the debate of SUA or SOA, I'll just say that for a SUA truck, the Alcans are working out better than I had thought. They only have 3 trails worth of experience and a couple weeks of road driving. So, I don't think they're totally broken in yet and they are performing very well. They are a better ride than I ever had from my OME's and even though they are still a bit stiff, they are flexing better than the OME's ever did. I've been very happy with the results.
Toytank 05-14-2002, 06:15 PM Nice pictures, it's always great to see another clean Cruiser.
