I had been meaning to do this for quite some time, and finailly got around to doing it this weekend.

and if that doesn't work, just go here, http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2245174 , it's the last pic on the page.

my key cylinder on the steering colum was starting to stick really badly, so I just unhooked the wires from the stock ignition switch, and rewired everything. all that's left to do at this point is to remove the key cylinder to eliminate the steering wheel lock feature, then I won't need the key at all.

Nice work!

Is the starter button off of a standup arcade game or something?

not sure exactly what the push button was intended for, but now that you mention it, it dose kinda look like an arcade button. LOL

I just went to the hardware store and got switches that were all rated for 50 amps. it's probably overkill, but I was able to simplify the wiring by not needing relays, and I shouldn't have to worry about the switches.

If you want something even safer. Hyster HI-lows use a keypad ignition. I have seen them used in other vehicles. You punch the code in and the vehicle starts

Like $60.

Leave the ignition lock there with the steering lock disconnected. Fool the would -be thieves!
