: Rockwell shaft 19 spline?

OK, somebody help me identify what this axle shaft was used in. It is identicle to a 2.5 ton rockwell including shaft lengths and u-joints but instead of 16 spline 1-5/8" shafts it is 19 spline 1-3/4" shafts. I have one long side shaft but not the short side. I bought it thinking that it was a spare for my rockwell front until I got it home. As best as I can tell it came from a Rockwell D100 or D140 axle but not sure on anything except the physical size of it.

Any idea what this axle was used under? If it is a D100 or D140 then a Detroit is available for it, what about drive flanges? Where could I get a short side? Boyce and Memphis Equipment were clueless (or did not want to help).

Daniel??

Could it be from a 2.5 ton drop out style center ? 5 ton rockwell is 16 spline 1 3/4 do believe.

Maybe.... A five ton u-joint dwarfs a 2.5 ton and this shaft U-joint is the same as a 2.5 ton. I will try to remember to bring it with me Memorial day weekend so you can see if you like. It looks like with a different seal and different spider gears and different drive flanges it would go right in a 2.5 ton front.
