OHMVR Commission goes green

I am sorry to report that despite the best efforts of myself, Terry
McHale and others who will remain nameless, Speaker Herb Wesson has appointed John Brissenden to the OHMVR Commission. This means that all four legislative appointments have gone to the enviros, while all three remaining Governor's appointments (by Governor Davis) have gone to pro-off roaders.

Obviously, the enviros have more influence with the liberal leaders of the Legislature. Until off roaders are willing to get involved in all phases of politics (including but no limited to campaign contributions) we will continue to be on the losing end since the Democrat legislative leadership is heavily influenced by environmental extremist.

John Brissenden ....what an ass. I grew up near Sorensens and the guy did what he wanted and doesn't give a rats ass about anyone else. I wonder if his septic tanks are still dumping sewage into the Carson River? He was told to fix it a long time ago and never did jack. His pollution must be okay since its coming from tree huggers. :sinical: How can they put people that HATE ohv's on the ohv comittee. I have never and will NEVER vote for a democrat.

OK five years has gone by. I saw something BRC filed about conflict of interest. What happened with that?

Apparently, nothing. I believe BRC filed that complaint in late 2002 but Brissenden continues to forge ahead with his blatantly anti-OHV agenda. I'll see if I can dig up any new information.

The "conflict of interest" was denied by the Fair Political Practices Commission.

Seems there is a VERY big loop-hole in CA ethics laws. Each agency is allowed to develop their ethics policy and rules. If they do not, very permissive state rules apply.

Interesting connection here: Mr. B is owner of Sorenson's resort, notorious for not liking motorheads. Mr. B was/is on the Lanhontan Water Quality Control Board (the ones that wanted to gate the Rubicon in 2000); and Mr. B. is on the OHV Commission, fighting daily to eliminate maintenance money and only give us close-trails money.

Wow...politics. Ain't it grand?
