here it goes

about 2 months ago I set up my own gears at work.Toyota V6 diffs,I put in Yukon 5.29's from Randys with there set up kits, left the front open, spool rear(also from randys.)all the other tech's were amazed when I could just slide the carrier bearings on by hand. thinking something was hooped I tryed to pull the old bearings off of the cariers, and all of them slid right off.
my question is,is this normal? ?

Part two of the story goes like this,my rear end lost some teeth driving down for the 4runner jambo and having a axle seal go,no fluid cooked the diff.so I just got another set of 5.29 and set up kit from randys.side bearings once again slid on by hand, but this time the pinion bearing also slid right on,by hand:question: all of this stuff is brand new and sealed so I'm lost.
there is no play between the innar race and the shaft, but the fact that it slid on without the press kind of scares me:(

should I be ok?am I going to have to spend another 400$ in the near future?I need a answer befor I finish the diff up tomorrow, thanks:smokin:

Just setup 4 R&Ps youkon 5.29 from randys a month ago and everything required either an arbor or hyd press.

Can't say technically why they should be a press-fit, but
have never seen one that was not. Something doesn't seem
quite right.

If bearings don't have a press fit, the inner race will spin. That's a no no. Carrier bearings are suppose to be a press fit. Don't know what else to tell you....the spool could be slightly undersize because if more than one set of bearings did the same thing that's what I would think. I hate when stuff goes wrong:barf:

You may have a 4cyl spool??? I know teh bearings are smaller, but I don't know how much smaller they are. Mine were a very snug press fit, and a PITA to take off.

all the boxes I opened said V6 on them.yes the side bearings slid on to the spool, but I reused the front carier and it was identical, pull old bearing off push new bearing on,by hand.I know that the race should not spin on the shaft because thats bad,but when I removed the bearings this time to put the new ones on the part of the spool that the race touches looked fine,no scoreing or anything?

The thing that confuses me the most is that three ring & pinion sets and three set up kits all have done the same thing,I could see it hapening to one set but not 3

anyways I'll probly just put it together and see what happens, its been a pavement princess for to long now;)
