Anyone running a 12v solenoid valve? I'm looking for one for truck dual air horn I'm putting on, anyone recommend a particular one? Thanks :D

Some LPG systems use a 12 volt solenoid shut off valve.
Common on older forking lifts.
I have used these in service trucks to operate air powered grease pumps, evac pumps and compressors.
They seem to hold up pretty well, if the air is clean and dry.

you might be able to use an ARB solenoid, don't know how much flow you need for the horn

I don't think your going to get enough flow out of a 1/8 of an inch.

poke around on the lowrider sites, they all use elec. solinoids, and they like to run big hoses.

Grainger, McMaster, Fastenal, etc ... all them guys have 12/24/110V air valves, 1/8", 1/4", 3/8", 1/2"+.

If you want a valve for an air horn though, check out a semi parts shop. They use a cool (small package) manually operated valve that can be "feathered" so as to not blow out someone's rear window. Or are you running one of them pussy Autozone air horns? :flipoff2:

I have an electric valve from Wolo. I special ordered it from Pep Boys. You can get it direct from Wolo, but they charge more :flipoff2: .....Just can't figure that one out.
Anyway it works well. Here is a pic of my horns..

Yeah, right :flipoff2: My bud who's on the FD gave me an old surplus dual 15"/18" horn that used to be on one of the fire trucks. Here's a tip- don't test out the horn in a closed garage off the shop compressor, fricking loud

I checked with Pep Boys for the Wolo solenoid valve, 804EV- $58! Screw that. I'm gonna call up Midwest Wheel and see if that sale price is still good, the ad is from Aug 2001.
