I've been asked to solve a problem on a '96 P38.

When RF door is unlocked it squeels like a dying blender. BP has the part, $$$, but say lubing the actuater will solve the problem.

I'm having difficulty removing the inner door panel:
1: remove speaker housing at a-piller. ok
2: remove inner door grab handle. -screws (2) out, no come off.
3: remove surround on door "lever". -can't turn to proper oreintation to remove with #2 in the way.
4: must I remove surround on interior door lock tab. -like a classic? -pry up?

I don't have the manual, and would appreciate any tips in addition to the help I've asked for above.
Apologies for a lame post.

I was a couple of years since I did this, but you seem to have procedure right, more or less. The grab handle doesn't come off separately, but the screws need to come out to remove the inner panel, IIRC. #3 comes off with a little patience, and has nothing to do with #2. You may need to replace a few of the plastic clips if you want a snug fit again.

I think you would need to get a 1" hole saw and drill a hole 6" up from the bottom edge and 8" back from the leading edge of the outer door skin. Then using a sawzall create an opening that measures 18" wide x 12" tall in the panel.
You should have all the access you need. :D
