Alaska ZJ 10-19-2001, 08:03 PM Nice Job and Nice ZJ in general.
I am just starting to mod my ZJ.
Had a FJ that was made for good wheeling and I am just now getting used to the damn unibody. But hey say what you want about grocery getters, when it is 0 outside I like the enclosed space.

For now it has 3.73 gears. Got lucky and picked it up like that. 4.56 ratio soon though.
Kelly it will be a few days before I tear apart the 35c and get the locker. I will email you.

chadl 10-19-2001, 08:16 PM Sharp looking axle, hope it doesn't stay that shinny for long.
I especially like the shock mounts, probalby gained 1 - 1 1/2" just with that.

I painted it with Rust-oleum. It had some undercoating on it when I bought it. I degreased the axle and used the wire brush to clean it a little. Turned out better than I thought. Thanks for all the compliments

Mayhem 10-20-2001, 05:09 PM Looks great. You have inspired me to get off my a$$ and get mine out of my yard and under my YJ

At least you got to spend a quality two hours underneath your jeep with that d35 ONE WEEK before swapping.
JeepZJ 10-21-2001, 07:15 PM Well that two hours under the Jeep got me off my ass to finish the 8.8.
Now I gotta fix the York hitting the battery thing

Z-what? 10-21-2001, 07:53 PM Nate,
That looks incredible. I can't wait till my swap. Only thing left is to find some ZJ rear axle bracketry.
Its a good feeling with anything other than that junko pos Dana 35c isn't it.
I was sooooo happy to get rid of mine. I know how you feel. Just you wait. Your off road confidence will soar.
I know before all you thought about is.. When is that pos going to break and Fu(K me.
Now youll be thinking, hey If I go this way i can turn there and then there and gun it here and I can go over that then....
Trust me youll see the difference off road. Confidence in ones equiptment goes a long way. Take it from someone who nuked 7 Dana 35-c's Before taking a hint. HAVE FUN.

Just makin sure...I have Trash-lock...will the locker fit in the LSD's place? If it doesn't...are all the brackets still on your 35c? If so...could I arrange a swap of the whole axle?
Either way, shoot me a email lettin me know if it fits or not.
Thanks
CannonBall 10-22-2001, 01:10 AM That's bad ass man! You're work is always damn good! Mine looks like shit now, I never painted it and just kinda threw it in there, took 1.5 days to do like the whole thing, but it shows. My wheel bearing are fucked! Oh well, it holds up, I'm gonna weld the spider gears on it, can't wait! Good shiet though, now we need to hack the fenders and get you some 35's.
-Nate
JeepZJ 10-22-2001, 07:20 AM Yeah I am definately going to have more confidence off road with the 8.8. I can actually use the gas pedal now
Kelly the brackets will be cut off and are spoken for. The lockrite should fit but you may want to call them and ask. My 35c was an open carrier.
Nate don't worry, 35s are coming soon. I will be building a long arm kit this winter. With 6" of lift I should clear 35s with some trimming. Did you ever get that front end unspooled?
