I'm thinking of doing the 249-242 swap in my 98 V8 ZJ. What was this TC originally out of? Do you know the length of the input shaft as well?

I Recently Did This Exact Swap All You Have 2 Do It Cut About A 1/4 Of An Inch Off The Output Shaft Of The Trans. The Splines Don't Even Do Anything W/the Old T-case So They're Just As Strong. You Can Use A Die Grinder W/ A Cut-off Wheel. I Made A Rear Trans Plug Out Of A Plastic Soda Bottle To Keep Out Metal While I Cut The Shaft. It Took A While But It Works Like A Charm.:)

A chop saw would do a faster job.
