Trying to increase the boost on my 300Tdi. Right now I am getting about 14psi and would like to be closer to 16-17psi. Question is do I screw the thread rod in (towards the wastegate) or back it out. Shortening the length seems to make the most since, making it take longer for the wastegate to open under boost. Can anyone confirm this?

Shortening the rod should make it harder for the wastegate to open, therefore increasing boost.

Yep, it needs shortened.

Of course your engine might not be able to blow hard enough to get 17psi.

Shorten it.. but make sude you "ping" the round clip off of the actual waste gate itself, then turn that, as opposed to turning the rod (probably makes sense anyway!) i did it on an old turbo and buggered up the actuator!

Form what i remember, 1/2 a turn equated to about 1 psi

I'd settle for 16psi ! I will give it a try tomorrow.
