My steering keeps coming loose (all of the tapered ends on the drag link and the tie rod) I know people say it takes a little driving to seat them completely, but these ends have been on 3 wheelin trips and driven 500 plus street miles. Every time I go wheelin they come up loose again. Is there a torque spec I should set them too? Am I doin something wrong?
Maybe you should have your girl tighten 'em for ya:D :flipoff2:

Are you just running them down with a cresent wrench and not putting in the cotter keys? If you are putting cotter keys in then they should not come loose at all.

I am using a cotter key.....its really wierd. Dean said the taper is just seating itself, but damn.....I would think after tightening them 3 times now it would be seated
Hey lame.......c'mere, I will show you how I know to tighten nuts :flipoff2: (ball peen hammer hidden behind back)

Are you using high steer arms or stock knuckle location? A couple guys in our club have had problems with the TRE's never quite seating right and always spinning using PM arms.

I had a little problem with that. the taper was slightly off. pull the end out and check to see if there is any funny wear pattern where it contacts the arm. just an idea:confused:
