I just removed the center ball of my Samurai Tcase to get a 2WD Low option. I followed the shifting pattern published at off.road.com and I was able to put 2WD Low, but was unable to get back to normal pattern, even after return by the same path.
I had to remove the shifter and relocating the bars to reach custom pattern.
Does any one suffered this trouble?
Any comments about 2WD Low option?

I just recently removed the center ball too (the doctor should've done it a long time ago;) ) and found myself in the same situation. Eventually I fished around in the "middle" area and got it back into the normal j-pattern without having to remove the shift lever. Sometimes I use two hands to hold it in just the right place before snicking it back to the center at the bottom of the "j". Either you can have someone show you or experiment till you get it right.:D Good Luck!
BTW, my company has an office in Vina del Mar.

Yea, it's tricky to find that spot in the middle and if the front is not lined up right it does not want to go back in. I've had good luck going to neutral, then move over and shift the front in. Kick it back to center then grab both rods. That helps get the front lined up so it will shift easily when you try to grab both rods at the same time..... Make sure you gave a good shifter sheet as well. Any slop makes it much more difficult. :)
An added bonus with the 2low mod. Flat towing... You can now shift the front OUT, and kick the tcase into N. That way you are not spinning the front drive shafts and axle down the highway!

You might want to try modifying your fork so that it has the Split-H pattern. It only takes a few minutes if you have a die grinder and is much more user friendly.
On the front output shifter fork you basically double the size of the slot. Machining is the best, but you can also do it by grinding as well.

Why wouldn't you want the 2-low shift pattern? When you're locked front and rear, steering is a LOT easier with 2-low. In fact, I run 99% of the 'Con in 2wd. I only use 4wd when I know I'm going to need it, which isn't often on the rocks.
