Ok, here's the deal...I have a Inchworm adapter on my Tacoma and yesterday noticed a gear oil leak between the 2 rear adapter plates. So after some close looking and poking around I noticed that the T-case was actually loose. The 2 piece rear adapter between the 2 cases had worked its way loose and was dripping gear oil.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is this a problem of putting that torque and abuse to 2 adapter plates that just have bolts holding them against each other? Is there a way to add guide pins to help support the bolts?

Should I just bolt them back together and lock-tite it better? are the Marlin or other adapters a 1 piece design that wouldn't have this problem?

Posted here first because it was 3 am...

I plan on calling Inchworm tomorrow when they're open (unless they're open today on the holiday).

Is this what you have?

I thought their dual case adapter was 1 piece design?

2piece rear clockable from not to 30* is their standard taco adapter, I do believe.
If its leaking, at least you know its still got fluid. You got the sight tube installed? Keep it full or yank it out and tighten it up- I've yet to see one personally that didn't leak somewhere.

Dude, it has nothing to do with them, try locktite next time... Also my guess is that you have a semi-solid t-case mount but still the squishy-flexy stock rubber engine mounts, but it's just a guess...

Nah, actually I have the older 85ish style t-case mount and the factory engine mounts...this compounded by the fact of having 1 tons, 39's and a heavy foot I'm sure hasn't helped my problem at all either. For now I pulled it all back apart and locktited it and it's been running fine for about 2000 miles...we'll see.

why is there a problem with that set-up?

Consider there are hundreds of folks running our xmember design, with the factory mounts, there is not a problem. Just like we have with the 3.4L, and NO ONE has reported a problem. Maybe ripping toyota yokes apart shows the kind of gentle driving practices we have? :p
