Rock racing comes to the Devil's Playground! Camping Fri & Sat nights, open ride on Sunday. Comp will be on a Saturday. Limited to 40 competitors, unlimited spectator space, unlimited towrig/trailor space. some come out and watch!

When: Sat. March 24th
Where:Playground is here. Scroll out for directions.
http://maps.yahoo.com/#mvt=h&trf=0&lon=-80.041285&lat=35.728838&mag=1

Two classes: 36-(no buggies), and 37+.

Some No-Brainers:
-Competitors MUST have a full cage tied to frame
-seatbelts with a shoulder belt ( 4 or 5-point harness suggested)
-working fire extinguisher securely mounted accessible by the driver
-dot helmet(s)
-battery securely fastened
-Signed release forms

Your rig will also have to pass a saftey inspection given by a member(s) of the Muddevils. Not listing a bunch of rules, but if judges say it does not pass, it's final. Ask beforehand if you have questions, leave the booty fabbed stuff at home.

Info:
Winner in each class will be based on the fastest time around the course. Time will be added if you go off course. Course will be set up very wide in most places so drivers will have their choice of lines to take. There will be several bonus "short cuts". If you can make the harder line, you get a shorter route, and a faster time.

Both classes will run the same course, with a bypass or two for the smaller rigs.

Each rig may have a co-driver. Both driver and co-driver MUST remain in the vehicle at ALL times it is moving under it's own power. If the rig rolls, or gets stuck, you are allowed to winch, or right the vehicle. IF ANY OUTSIDE HELP IS PROVIDED, YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

We are going to try to let each competitor take two laps, the fasted lap time will count.

Plenty of prizes to be given out. Hoping to pay out around $500 for the big tire class, less for the small tire class, a trophy, and bragging rights.

Since this is the first comp we have put on, there may be rules changed/added.

Anyone who is interested in competing, please post up so we can get an idea of who's coming. Include which class you want to compete in, and a breif description of your rig.

Give me a date and entrance fee amount and we'll fit it into the comp schedule this year. Had a blast down there for the Benfit and looking for an excuse to go back.

We should add also that none of the club members will be competing unless we can't fill the field.

March 24.

Entry fee has not been set yet, but should be under $30. We're not looking to make money and hope to have at least $500 to first place in the big tire class.

The more people that show up to watch, the more $$$$$ we will pay out to the winners.

Ok, so upon further reveiw, we need to change some things. Looks like having prize money, paid entry fees, and paid admission opens us up to a world of liability. Thanks to all the sue happy morons who can't accept their own responsiblity at an event like this :x .

So, there will be no entry fee, and a trophy for the winners. The winners also may get a "donation". Spectators can get in for a donation to the club/landowner to help cover the cots of the event.

Gene stood it on the nose for about 10 seconds before it finally went on the lid. There was a guy standing behind me that got a series of about 10 pics of it . I'll try to locate em. I wish I had a pic of dougs face after he hit the tree, when I got to him you could just about see the tweety birds flyin around his head. Glad you had the neck brace on! I imagine you guys are feeling it today, Greg, Gene and Doug were strawberried up pretty good from the shoulder harnesses. Everyone put on one hell of a show!!!:smokin:
