Positives:
1. no one turned away.
2. clean bathrooms all weekend
3. food vendor at site, with good food.
4. great rocks
5. great course
6. great drivers
7. I had a blast!!!!!!!

Minuses:
1. I'm tired as hell
2. rest of staff tired as hell
3. way to many beer BOTTLES (use cans)
4. parking nightmare for limited staff.
5. to long until next one.

Thanks for all of those who came out to watch what drivers said was the greatest course ever. (true rockcrawling).

Thanks to all of those that give the staff kind words during the weekend.

And sorry to those, who thought we fell short in their expectations.

And my personal thanks to the staff that I depend on so much.

Rich, this was the best Calrocs event yet. Wish I could have helped out but I had to leave early on Sat and be home on Sun for mothers day so I couldn't. I did come to watch and offer moral support however. Coulda used a couple more toilets maybe cause the line was looong at times but I have to say, I was impressed that a professional crew kept em clean and fresh. We bought t-shirts and hotdogs and had a great time watching all the guys put on one heck of a show. My son came along (he's 23) and he was shocked to see the likes of Walker Evans there since he thought Walker was still Baja racing. He was equally impressed when we stopped to chat with Jason Bunch and many of the other drivers. (he saw Jason on Junkyard Wars):D Now he's thinking, hmmmm, maybe I need to get me a wheeler.:D

That location was outstanding as well and of course, Bob did his usual awesome job of setting up the routes. I hope to be able to help out at the next event. Maybe not as a judge if it involves climbing up and down the rocks all day cause I'm way too old and outta shape to do that again but I'm sure we can find something that im suited for.

Just wanna say, you all did an incredible job at Moonrocks. I hope we get to experience that place again. (*everybody clap*) :D:D

Hey guys i think rich and crew did an excellent job on the event- It was true rock crawling and competition they took the time to set it up and make it challenging - Jason and george said it was a good event they came from south dakota - if your tierd then you know you gave it your all rich- hope to see things get a little easier for you guys -your hard work will pay off! ( thinking a sponsorship is in order - i need to talk to you again rich ) good show! Jesse

It was a good show! Everybody seemed like they were enjoying themselves. People do need to keep the glass at home though although I did not see but a couple bottles "cans are better". I had my 2 & 4 year olds with me , and although they got the most of my attension I still got to see what I wanted to, and overall I was really impressed with the whole package. Thanks Rich!

As I told you in person Rich, awesome job and thanks a lot. I was at the Victorville event and it paled in comparrison to the Moon Rocks event. It was definitley a true rock crawling competition. Definitely a challenge for us working with a brand new rig with 0 trail time on it. But we were able to see exactly what needs to be changed for next time. Keep your eyes peeled for some cool things from team poor college boys!

I had a blast as well, Joel recruited me as a judge and I’m glad I did it. I talked to a lot of the spectators and tried to explain the rules, different classes, and what the sport of 4x4 is all about. Many of the locals commented on the clean up performed.

I also noticed the crowd enjoyed the Pro-Mod much more then the Unlimited class. The Unlimited class is where the development is, but the Pro-Mod class provides more action.

So thanks to the CalRocs crew and the drivers with a heavy right foot.

We had a great time , ( Amador also ) hopefully BLM is happy as well as the locals.
Looks like your getting the event thing down.
My only suggestions would be more restrooms spread apart , better parking control, and a seperate entrance for competitors ( not much chioce at Moonrocks, but several competitors were stuck behind spectators trying to get in )
All in all a great event Rich
P.S. yes way too long before the next one.

Hey Big Rich, you did one hell of a job!!!...it was definitely worth the 14 hour drive (each way) :D :D :D

too bad the S&N Fab rigs had such bad luck after such a long trip, but them's the cards that you're delt I guess...

on the other hand, my S&N Fab coilover TJ did the 1500 mile round trip no problemo  ...it was a fun drive :)

looking forward to the next event, and hopefully you'll be able to bring the circus up to this part of the country sometime soon

This was my first time seeing an event like that, I was there both Sat and Sun and have to say the course and the amount of rigs that showed up was awsome. My only complaint if you can call it that was Sun. competition was slow to get under way other than that it was great and I had no problems with the parking situation. If you had done more advertising maybe a radio spot there would of been at least twice as many people show up, I don't know if that would help you or hurt your :) I just hope you guys come back again. -- CJ

Hey Rich, I had a blast and you did a great job.

The only thing was(nothing to do with Big Rich), my brother works for the Forest Service and noticed a rep from BLM taking pictures so he started talking to her. After he talked to her for a while she seemed pleased with what he was saying about the event. Just as she was getting ready to take a panoramic pic of something, a Jeep came haulin ass up to within about 3 feet of them and the driver yelled out "The Beer is Here". He said he cleaned out the local store of the last 7 cases. We need to have people be a little careful of what they are saying and who they are saying it infront of. My brother told this guy who the lady was and he didn't to care. I have a feeling she was less than impressed. :(

The last thing was parking on the left side of the road. She was very unhappy about that also.

She was worried about parking on the left hand side of the road??
Jesus christ! That place on any given weekend will have cycles, dune buggies, and any other off roader vehicle you can think of, tearing that place apart. Theres is not one inch of that place that doesn't have a rutt or track on it!
The last time I checked that place is an OHV park, and is pounded into dust regularly.
I don't get it...

Rich,
You and the crew did a great job.
The vendors were placed where the spectators noticed them, and like you said the food was even good.
I know from speaking with Jim Reel,(J.E.Reel Drivelines) that he was pleased with the recognition of his stickers on the rigs, and then the spectators comming up and talking with him about his drivelines.
As far as the course and the competition, it was top notch. I had a blast, and I had dozens of spectators tell me it was as exciting as any spectator sport they had ever seen.
You are so right though,...the next one is way too long of a wait.
Sorry I couldnt stick around and help, but I had to get home and take care of buisness, (before the money ran out)

Thanks again.
