I'm redoing the long arms on my TJ, and want to know about a truss for a 4 link. I was thinking about getting the BTF truss with cover, but I'm sure I can make one. Question is, will a truss from square tube be strong enough just attached to the tubes?

The BTF one, and the RockKrawler one both use the diff cover/monting points as part of the mount. If I build one like this one (http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/medium-weight-p-117.html) from Ruff Stuff that only attaches to the tubes. This is a TJ Dana 44, with the thinner tubes. THanks. :smokin:

How is the small gap between the upper truss and the lower "shim" piece addressed?

I imagine RTV will seal it just fine.

A problem with BTF seems to be getting stuff delivered in a timely fashion. A friend of mine has been waiting for a diff cover for months.

The same friend built his own truss, as he has a press brake. He had to do it over once he measured and plugged into the 4-link calculator (truss was too tall). So if you fab your own do the calculations before fabbing/welding.

BTF... yes I remember the wait. But after a reasonable time, I decided to call them daily. After about a week of that I finally got my stuff. Next time I will order somewhere else.

Now Poly Performance! That's a different story, Excellent service. No wait.
