Okay who other than Downey sells the throttle cables!!. I have the "kit" pedal that goes with most weber or holly setups but need anothre cable. Spector sells the pedal and cable together. CCOT does something similar.

Any one? Or does anyone have a good used one???

Like this one..

I BELIEVE that is an actual Toyota part. I think it comes from an early cruiser(60's vintage FJ40) requiring a cable versus rod linkage. So, head to the dealer and get the part number and call a dealer that gives a discount, or just order it as a replacement for the early cruiser from one of the places that sells OEM parts.

Can you use a Lokar set up? You can cut them to whatever size you need and mount them just about anywhere. Any speed shop would have them ;)

OK ready to laugh your ass off?? My throttle cable broke right after I started driving the cruzah, and I happened to be in front of Ace hardware. So I went in, bought a bike brake cable (Just the steel cable part) threaded it through the existing trottle cable housing, and presto, still driving it that way! :D:D:D:D

That is great! All mine is right now is a bike brake cable, housing and everything. I figured I would be cool with the teflon lined housing  Mabye I can retrofit a hydraulic bicycle brake line ;)

I am just tired of the bike cables wearing out. In Moab I was having trouble with the throttle cable sticking sometimes.

I figure that if I start new I will be better off in the end.

Or I will just go buy another bike cable ;)

And have you priced Lokar pedals and cables??? Nice stuff but $300 for a gas pedal is a bit much for me..

For my rig this is what worked.....I'm running a 350 with a Quadrajet, we ran the Lokar (cable set only) to a gas pedal from a 70's Chevy pick up. The pedal geomitry is perfect :D We tried all kinds of :rainbow: pedal combos from different eras of Cruisers, and the Chev worked great;)

On my FJ, with the 305 and q-jet, I have a very similar looking pedal to the one in Jason's pic, and a throttle cable from Autozone for a Chevy truck...

Now that I'm turning the q-jet 180 degrees around, I just bought a longer cable...looks to be TOO long, but it'll probably do until I can find something else...

How long does the cable need to be? When my cable broke I went down and my parts guy at NAPA hunted one down for me. Problem is that is was too short. I don't know if it is off of an fj45,55 or what the deal is anyway it looks exactly like the one you have pictured there. It is just sitting in the cruiser becuase I lost the reciept and waited too long to take it back. Let me know how long you need and I'll find out how long it is. It's brand new and looks exactly like the one pictured.

Length can be variable. Depending on where I mount it.

How long is yours?

That cable is identical to the stock cable for a 68 fj40. Sorry I don't have a good part number. I too bought one with a weber and pedal only to find they both were the same as what was stock on mine!
