My stepson has a ruined spider gear in his 2000 Z71. It appears that carrier may have gotten damaged as well. The differential has a spring clutch pack type locker. The cheapest way to go would be for him to drop a Detroit ez locker into it, if it will work. Does anyone know if this locker is made for open cariers only or can it work in a posi carrier?

Actually there are/were some lunchbox lockers that worked in tracloc posi carriers. However, he most likely has the G80 so that option is out. The cheapest fix at this point is another govloc from the scrapyard, some eaton internals (if it is a 4 spring Eaton clutch style posi and if they are available) or open carrier and standard internals. JMO
