I'm preparing to repair the damage my stupid pedal (and subsequent roll) has done to my Jeep.
I was considering replacing the windshield frame, fenders and hood with kevlar.
The body will do fine with a little persuasion and some steel rocker/corner panels.
What is the best source for kevlar parts (quality & price)?
What are your opinions of kevlar (I did a search and found that not many people are happy with fiberglass)?
Thanks.

Dude Kevlar ia expensive... Just think of the damage you will do next time you roll $$$$$$$$ Fuck do you need to save weight that much that you need kevlar body parts... Maybe on a import NOT ON A JEEP.:rasta: :rasta:

Isn't Kevlar stronger than FG? would it take as much damage as steel?

ive had a little experience working with both kevlar and FG, yes kevlar is much stronger than FG for the amount that is used, that is why there is the differnce in wieght, although kevlar is stronger i don think a kevlar hood could withstand the damage of a rollover, i think it would be a waste of money, but thats just my .02

my backround in school gave me a little experience in composites. The Kevlar will be alot stronger than the typical fg. However all fiber composites have most of the strengths in tensile loading. THey can be somewhat strong in compressive loading if designed right. But the bigest problem with composites for this type of aplication is that they are terrible in impact loading. Unlike metal which will dent composites wil crack and splinter losing all strengths including there tensile strengths. I too have a body that needs to be replaced do to a roll over, and I will be using an all steel body (maybe galvanized) or maybe a high strength aluminum body. But probaby go with steel do to the ease of painting and such.
