Well i been looking for this for a awhile bought an 66 fj-45 truck, awesome shape for 1,700 but it has flatbed rather then stockbed but it looks good, i have pics but dont have any means of posting, anyhow now what? it sits so low to the ground that the first thing is lift!! i priced lift springs but to expensive you can only get 2 1/2 inch lift and the springs are 276 a piece for the rear, so i guess its soa again, anyone have any suspension ideas? or cage ideas?.... parts for these things are hard to find. Thanks in advance!!

Do a spring over/ shackle reversal with the stock springs. That will net you around 5" of lift!:skull:

I am going to put a SOA on my 45 as soon as I feel brave enough. I have the double arm and a bare housing in my posession. I have also looked into the springs and they are $$. Keep me posted on your progress. I am looking for a way to get a shoulder belt in that thing. That big ole wheel is just grinning at my teeth. Shoot over some pictures.

I just completed a SOA un my 45 using the stock springs and love it. I also did the shackel reversal using the orig rear spring hanger. You should do A SOA!!!. I also built a cage inside the cab and it doesn't take any room away from the already small cab. This design allows you to use a shoulder belt or harness and yes the hard top fits and the window latches clear as well as the window cranks. My friend Ken at HANNAQUALITY.COM built it for me as well as the SOA and TBI 350. There are some pics of it on Elephant Hill on Http://Realcruiser.com/cm2002/elephant/ Have fun with it 45'S ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How about a 1/4 ellip job on the rear, and bob it....My buddy just did this to his 45. It's funny how these "Purists" freak out when you do this to a 45. He hasn't bobbed the rear yet but the 1/4 ellip is done...First 45 I've seen with that setup.

Would you be interested in a complete original bed for yours? He's not far from Wa. :smokin:

yeah i think i will do a standard spring over, i have an front axle complete with perches on top and toyota mini truck outers with 4 piston caliper disc on it, the only problem is that it isnt cut and turned, i think i use it anyhow and come back when i have more $ to have the knuckles turned. i was looking at the back and it has overloads and sway bar so i figure toss the sway bar and the overloads, the overload have some interesting looking perches that i may be able to use for spring perches anyone tried this?
dude man crzr45 sweet ride dig the cage gave me a couple of ideas did he take it right to the frame? Im not to afraid about mods with this truck it already has a few so i dont think there is much sense going back to original, what good is a rig if you cant have anyfun right? !!! but i did like the way that original bobbed bed looked so i would be interested in that bed dm heres my e-mail tell him to shoot me a price and some pics and we will talk

Now that's what I want, a $1700 FJ45....and prefer flat bed....if you want ideas, keep the rear narrow and cage the front and keep it on the light side and bob it just behind the axle....
