so i have a q-jet on my truck and it wont start
if i put gas down the carb it starts and then quits after gas is used
the fuel pump is good
and the float bowls are full
and when i hit the gas its not shootin gas through the jets so would it be my jets that are the problem or is it something else?

just lead me on where to search

Check the little filter that in inside the carb behind the fuel line fitting.
Some of the factory ones were stone and they plug up pretty bad.
Take it out and see what happens, if it works put one inline before the pump and drive it....

dried up accelerator pump seal. If it sat with no gas in it, then the stuff inside would dry up, or maybe its just its time. Get a 13 dollar carb kit and replace the common worn parts.

When you took it apart to clean it did you take out the primary jets and blow cleaner and air thru the passages in the body??
Also did you check all the emultion tubes and blow thru them to make sure that gas can be picked up thru them. If the carb sat dry all these areas will clog. I always blow compressed air thru all the passages inside. then chase them with spray cleaner and then follow up with air again to make sure eveything is open.
Sounds like you got a major clog internally.
