: hummer beadlocks backspacing?
Seabass 01-26-2007, 12:12 PM I've seen hummer(or what I thought were hummer) military double bead locks on a 98-02 2500 but when I searched in about it I ony found that the backspacing is so deep that the tire hits control arms. I read some thing about the 3500 duely spacer being used. could you use the hummer rims on a duely like a single rim? I'd like to buy another ctd in the future and if thats the case I'll get the 3500 over the 2500. thanks for any input.

American 01-26-2007, 12:26 PM Well I'm not sure this is Dodge tech, but...
They are 16.5"x8.25" and they have 7" BS. 8-lug.
You can run them with a spacer, or by recentering them. Maybe you have them confused with H2 non-beadlocks?
Seabass 01-26-2007, 01:37 PM How is this not dodge tech? What kind of spacer the factory duely piece?

If the dodge duelly is like chevy its 4" with then makes the back spacing like normal
Seabass 02-01-2007, 10:31 AM Awsome thats what I was hoping to hear. thanks for the input.
Keith in CO 02-02-2007, 04:30 PM I am wondering if 2" spacers used with stock back spaced H1 rims would work on the CTD

Or, use offset steering arms:

After you bolt those steering arms on, show us some pics...............please
American 02-06-2007, 08:37 PM yea those arms aren't going to work with your axle...
These would work and keep your ackerman angle in order too.

To bad they don't make a drivers side.
I used the WFO double arms and they would not work unless you ran heim joints as the tie-rod would just hit the edge of the rim. If Trevor moved the holes towards the inside about a 1/4" the stock tie-rod ends would fit. I had the rims re centered. Good thing as my hubs would have stuck out like rock magnets.

Uh, thats a double no.
American 02-06-2007, 10:00 PM Yeah, probly not........................... :p
PS - not only will those arms not work, but 7" of BS is a bit excessive on a fullsize rig.
Uh, thats a double no.
I know you know your chit, so you must have miss understood what I was saying :)

Team Ramrod 02-08-2007, 05:41 AM What about Recentering the wheels? then you don't have to keep the killer offset and you don't have to use wheel spacers.

You are 100% correct also, however, the axle that he is mentioning will not support ANY high steer arms. 94+ Dodge front axles are ball joint with a funky knuckle.

Brain fade, I forgot about that.
Ramrod, I think they were looking not to spent the $100 per rim to re-center.
here a shot on older GM DRW axles.
