What did these old bronco's (68-75) with 302's get for mileage. I cant imagine that it would be that bad with the 302's in em'.

Who cares. Go to ClassicBroncos.com and search for fuel mileage. Honestly if you are concerned about fuel economy you shouldn't be getting a vehicle with a drag coefficient higher than a brick.

Now to answer you realistically, don't expect much over 10.

Last time i checked mine it got 21mpg.

The 21 miles came from pushing it in and out of the garage a million times, and the one gallon of gas leaked out of a bashed in spot on the tank.

I get 5-8 mpg in my '69. I usually just ride the bike everywhere, 50mpg, much better!

I've only taken mine down the road once that was far enough distance to get a check on the mileage. Shocked the crap out of me when I checked it after about 120 miles....11+ MPG at 60-65 mph. 408 EFI with 4.88 gears and 39.5 IROKS. I would have guessed more like 6 to 8 tops. I'm all happy now knowing I'm truly doing my part to help reduce the nation's dependence on foreign oil..thought I was driving a gas guzzler but I was mistaken. A regular econobox, she is.:grinpimp:

was 12mpg with a 351w, 4:56's, 35's and carb'd

now I have added efi, 1 ton axles w/ 5:18's and 39.5 IROKS...probably 9 or 10

When I used to drive my dads a lot in high school and college it got 12 to 14 with stock 302, 4.10s and 31s. Maybe with EFI, overdrive and modest tires you could hit upper teens but they are pretty heavy bricks to push around.

My 67 seemed to get mid teens the month I drove it, 289 2bbl 3spd 3.50s 31" ATs. Never checked the mileage of my 72 efi 351, C4, 4.10s, 38 SXs, but it's way better than I expected, over 10 in town getting on it.

I can't believe somebody hasn't come out with a cool fiberglass ground-effects kit and oversized rear spoilers for our EBs yet..:smokin:

I thoroughly enjoy each of the ten miles I get per gallon in mine.

And I too would like to see some cool fiberglass ground-effect kits and oversized rear spoilers, I would be styling it down the trail and the envy of my peers :smokin:

Yer skating on mighty thin ice there, Bill... [shakes finger menacingly]:flipoff2:

I got 12 once, when there was a hellacious tailwind driving back home from Albuquerque. Otherwise I got ~10, no matter how I drove it back and forth to work (~100 mile round trip). No clue what it'd get now...

Ditto on some of the better mileage posts. Mine got 14 driving 60 mph from Carson City to Vegas with an Edelbrock 600, 4.10s, and 31s.

Amazingly, with the 426 stroker I was getting about 12 with a Holley 600, 4.10s, and 33s but that was running 65 to 70 mph.

Currently installing efi on the stroker, 4.88s in the full width diffs, and 37's. We'll see...

I've got a transmission theory that the autos don't do as well. All these numbers were with an NP435 and I expect that the guys getting less than 10 mpg are running autos. Anyone care to prove me wrong?

No idea now, used to get 12-15 with 351wSEFI, 35 air'd up to 35-40psi, ZF-5spd, and 4.56's. Now I get most of a day wheeling out of a 15gal tank.

Not an EB, but my 79 with a 400 and C6 would get a reliable 14mpg. Winter/Summer, hauling my boat...Didn't matter...14MPG.

And if an EB has the aerodynamics of a brick, the 78-79 were like pushing a sheet of plywood through the air. And not edgewise......

My 67 got 10 consistently with the carbed 302, T-18, 456's on 36's. Now with the injected HO 5L when I drove it to Oregon and checked it I got 15+ with the same setup otherwise.

mine gets about 7 gallons per mile, being that it doesn't see much other than 4low anymore.

I had a 302, 4.11 and 32's, I used to get 19-20.
When I went to 35's, same setup, I am not sure, I never re did the speedo.
With 4:11's and 38, I got poop, like 10.
with 5.13's and 38's I got 15-17.
After that I put it on a trailer.
