After two hours of searching, I can't find the answer. I'm gonna head out to the junkyard to search for some Waggy front springs (6- or 7-leaf packs). The question: Am I looking for a Grand Wagoneer or a regular Wagoneer? I assume it's the latter, but I want to be sure. Also, any particular range of year that will give me what I want (6- or 7-leaf front packs with offset center pins)?

Try to look under new SJ's because the bushings will be in better condition and the springs probably in better condition too. The newer years really used the 7 leaf packs alot.

Understood, though as near as I can tell, the term SJ covers both Grand Wagoneer and the regular Wagoneer. Can I use the springs from either model?

Yes you can. If it's a Wagoneer with the typical Wagoneer body it's got the springs you're looking for. I've seen old and new and all have the same suspension set-up, if it has leaves up front then they'll be the off-set style. (to the best of my knowledge)
I have found some really nice springs on early to mid 80's waggies in the yards, and only $10/spring

Yep, forgot exactly when they quit making the Grand Waggy but i think it was 91 and older. Take a tape measure with you to check for the offset center pin
Just for info the Grand Waggie is the same thing as a Waggie when you're talking fullsize. The "Grand" name came about when AMC decided they needed an upscale package based on the Cherokee (XJ). They made one and called it a Wagoneer and changed the name of the fullsize version to Grand Wagoneer. Same machine with a new title.
