got a 79 bronco hp 44 to strip and sleeve. removed both c's yesterday from the cast arm mounts but never measured the axle before doing this. where can i get some precise measurements to put this thing back together without hunting down another one? i could also use some sarcastic comments about how stupid that was:D

try calling advanced driveline in orlando. they should know. they cut down axles.
i'd bust your chops, but i see that you live in orange city, dont need you driving across I-4 to kick my ass.

nope, had a 89 bronco II if that counts:D i actually sold the yj i had too and now run an '02 tj on 35's, its the one with the seminole spears on the hood sides. i have a 9" rear and a hp 44 front here im swapping in. got the c's off and now the radius arm mounts so its ready for the machine shop to get sleeved. you dont happen to know of a good local place or if acme has any dom in their pile?

i think i have seen your jeep around.
is acme the place near I-4 and 17-92? never been there just heard about it.
i am sure advanced in orlando, or garys in daytona would have what you need.
i dont know if there is anybody closer.

yea, acme is in "port of sanford" just stopped there and they have a bunch of dom, $.95 a pound. i want 3" od with .5" wall and they have 3/8" wall and 5/8" wall, now i need to decide if 5.8" is overkill, anyone have any idea what this stuff might weigh per ft.?

i would hope that 3/8th wall would be fine since your running this in a jeep.
i dont know if there would be any issues with using the 5/8ths.

problem is, i need to machine 5" down to fit inside the existing tube to get full-width back, the factory tube is 3" od with what looks to be around a 1/4" wall leaving me about 1/8" to slide in. ill get the 5/8" just to sleep better, even though its "only" a jeep :flipoff2:

crap, forgot about that. the 5/8 is looking like the stuff to get. price seems right.
what else they got there?

they have all kinds of good stuff, if you have a welder and an imagination its a candy store, bunch of different sizes of dom and other junk. 3" od x .5" wall weighs 13.5 lbs per ft so at 5/8" wall i should get it for around 15 bucks a ft, not bad considering i only need 3 ft.....
