Anyone seen this before (the crack and not the shitty repair job) and if so, what is the best way to repair it? I was thinking welding a piece of channel to the top and bottom to help support it.

By the way, I'm replacing the floor pan on the driver side as it it so it will be free to weld on.

Cut it out and replace it with new floors. http://www.wildhorses4x4.com

I found a very similar crack when I remove the floor board on 72. I bent it back welded it up and then reinforced it with some steel plate that sits in the channel and was welded every couple of inches for extra strength. Been 5+ years and no signs of the crack reappearing.

Good to hear. Going to try your method I think.

Sweet brake pedal...... LOL

Yeah, I 'd clean up that cross support, and see if you can just clean it and weld it. If not WH sells some.

Gonna work on it this weekend and see if I can make it work before I go fork out the caish$$.

And yeah, the pedal is by far the best aftermarket item in my opinion :flipoff2:

Ive already been down this road. Do yourself a favor and cut it out. What are those solenoid looking things on your floorboard?

Jeffs Bronco Graveyard has the replacement floor pan support for 27 bucks just fyi to anyone that is having the same problem. I'm gonna go that route.

I bought the JBG supports and replace mine on both sides.

If you push that pedal when you want to stop I don't think you will get the desired results :nuke: :D

It really depends on how rotten it is. Reinforcing it with some channel is probably a good idea. Glad to hear you are replacing the floor pan...I've seen some pretty ghetto eb fixes but as cheap as the replacement pans are to be had thats the way to go.
