Hey there, we are in the process of starting up a new club, and we are looking to adopting a trail in the So Cal area. Our new club is the
RockSkullz
www.rockskulls.com
What types of stuff would make for a cool trail? Anyone in the So. Cal area who would be interested in running a trail up in the Big Bear/ Arrowhead area should stop on buy our club board (www.rockskullz.com) and let us know what types of obstacles you would like to see. We have pretty much been given the go ahead from the forestry, so anytime now, we are going to begin the creation.
We want to make it hard, but we want people to give us sudgestions on what would bring them up the mountain to try it!
thanks!

careful on how loud you announce your creating a "new" trail. i'm sure the greenies would love to hear that!;) i think you should scout out a spot where there will be the least amount of damage to the area just so it will be less obvious to enviro-nutz. find a spot with rocks around already and just move them to make them harder. thats what we do around here and we haven't had any problems:beer:
edit: just thought i'd add, the place we move stuff around to wheel is private property and we have the owners concent.;)
When we find a new place to wheel, we don't tell anybody.

so you guys got the "go ahead" from the FS to create a new trail??
I'll be the first to call BS.
- but I'd like more info and clarification on how a new club looking to adopt a trail through the adopt a trail program, not part of any organization (CA4WDC has been looking into opening new trails, but can't get the "go ahead" as you have), goes about getting the "go ahead" for creating a new trail in a National Forest... Last time I checked there were a few different studies and such that had to be done - are you saying you completed these? Do you even know what a DEIS, FEIS, or RAMP are?
Just make sure you're doing this 100% by the books and not fucking up the entire forest access plan for the rest of us....
:usa:
Edit: I fixed a few spelling errors, I felt illiterate after reading that this morning;)

RockScullz.............Man I tell ya the Skull head for club logos is really catching on huh? Maybe we should change our club logo so it can be somewhat oringinal again. Neverhappen
As far as the new trail goes I copy Yellows suggestions. Make sure the process is being followed to the tee. I just got back from the Forest Service meeting last night and we are really gaining some positive traction with them. I can also add that sending post out about a new trail isnt a smart idea.......Thats how some trails have been overrun with Idiots.
Hope you dont take my thoughts in a bad way I am just passing on my 02 cents worth based on experience. Hope your new trail Fully Gets It! :D
