rudezuk, yours might but mine does not. it always says it is full when there is nothing in it. i have e-mailed admin 3 weeks ago but i have not gotten a reply as to why this is happening.
dave, thanks for the reply. as i said he told me he was not sure if you were looking to get the gears at the end of the month or if he could look forward to the case at the end of the month. i guess i'll try and set up the 4to1 t-case for him to borrow. thanks again.

"ethical"
we feel it is no longer ethical for us to market the SUMO 6.1's as it is currently set up between us and our provider. We are close friends with Rob, but business is business. We wish him all the best. All the outstanding orders above will be filled by us, and warranties honored by Robert.
I have contacted another well known Vendor and gave him Rob's email address. I hate to market anything we can not pick up local, or is not in stock. Our plan at first went from Robert supplying us with gears, then we take orders for them. Rob was afraid they wouldn't sell fast enough, so he asked that we take a non-refundable deposit of $100 dollars, then charge the remaining amount before he would ship them to us. We have good credit with all our other suppliers and do not need to prepay for parts, and do not feel the need to get a loan to buy the gears up front. I spent many years building up our accounts, to get the best prices and quality products......and build a reputation of doing right by everyone......without slamming another Vendor to market our products
Now the policy has became even more demanding. He wants us to get core gears from us before we can have our orders.
Bottom line.....I hate to wait on parts, and hate to make customers wait. We had outstanding orders for gears, and they were sold to another vendor. We will not allow this to happen again. If Rob's policy changes, we will keep marketing his gears.
any questions?
Dave

it will all work out just fine.....if Rob will allow another vendor (with a great reputation of getting parts out on time that doesn't get into smack talking to sell his products) market these gears....
I sent word to Tim Tackett of North Coast, in hopes he will market them also....
we are glad we had the chance to help someone market such a fine product, when no one else would even talk to him about it....
Rob spent several days in Moab trying to find a US vendor.........and they all ignored him..........:flipoff2:
We were the only ones that took an interest in them.....and had faith in Rob......sorry we're not rich enough to buy them exclusive!
Rob isn't to blame, he can only have them made every 12 weeks, he needs the cores and the money up-front......

So, does this mean that we will have to deal with Robert ourselves on any warrany issues? I don;t like the idea of having to call England to make a warranty claim.
Sorry to hear that this isn't going to work out for you, Dave.
I'm concerned about this, since I am on that above list. If the warranty claims would be handled by another "reputable" supplier, I just hope this supplier is someone easy to work with...

geez, I didn't die......I just am not going to sell/market anymore of them the way we have been doing it.....
if Rob will go back to his past method of providing them to us...we'll keep them on our site.....
I will finish up the orders we have, and make sure your all coverd......I hold the title to a very modified Zuk with his parts in it, plus a very expensive plasma cutter in my possession......I don't think he wants to screw anyone.....
I can't blame him, he has bills to pay......
look there are only so many Zuks, of them there are only so many that will buy a product, and of them only so many that will buy that product from either Vendor.......then top it off with once any product hits the market....it's not long before someone comes out with one just like it.....
it's a Dog eat Dog world.....

this is one of the reasons I am thinking about bailing out of them.....we have had orders from January that were sent to another company.........
then promissed if we dotted every eye and crossed every tee....we would get them this time as planned......
we will have gears next week, and more the following week.....
or look on eBay for a cool Zuk 4-sale:flipoff2:
I would like to keep my word and reputation..and never smack talk another vendor......(unless I am smacked on) to sell anything

Hehe! Sorry about that, Dave, didn't mean to make it sound like you were being bumped off or anything! ;)
It's good to know that YOU are the type of vendor that will watch out for us...There are vendors, and there are GOOD vendors, just a shame that the ones with good business sense usually get the short end of the stick in these situations.

TIMMY CANE 05-29-2002, 07:30 AM Dave,
From your posts your trying to innocently portray Rob out as some sort of bad guy.
Whould you still be threatening his property publically online if he was on the same various suzuki lists.
We both know what has gone on and why the out come is such.
I like you as a mate I think your a pretty cool guy but don't keep digging yourself into what could turn out to be an embarassing situation.

actually, he's trying to say that he still wants to do biz with him, he just can't promise them to customers when there is such a long wait, in addition to a core gear commitment and $$ commitment.

Hey Ya Fawkin' Newbie Welcome to POR Board:flipoff2: :flipoff2:
these 2 guys caught on right away, and know a "Joke" when the read one......they also know whats going on round here...

(((I did not get that impression. He is only trying to set his customer's minds at ease and using a little PBB humor.)))
I just want some guys to know why they have been waiting since January for their order.....and why the gears went to another Vendor....while I did everything asked of me by Rob ("plus") to get them......
Buying from a manufacture out of the USA has it's down side.....should anything ever happen to Rob after he collects the money......I doubt his family will be paying back the money....this is one of the reasons we are going to stop selling them for him.....that and the ever changing method in getting them to us.....
There are only so many Vendors that market Suzuki parts, that are not currently marketing lower gears......of them I have sent word to one quality Vendor that CAN AFFORD to buy the gears from Rob, then sell what is in stock.....Rob would do great by him, he is a "NO BS" type guy......
I have publicly stated and emailed Rob all about this.....I wish to be close friends with him, but can not afford to market his gears the way it is set up now....if he could keep it the way we started, I would be more than happy to accept them back....
now, go to "general chit chat" reply to everything and get out of the Newbie mode:flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

So you are the famous Tim Cane from the UK. :D I saw your Samurai in the Rocky Road Outfitters web site. Some people told me that you won a lot of competitions with it. I like your vehicle. It is the best Samurai I ever seen. :D No offense to anyone, but he is a newbie but I think he is up there. :D Tim, do you still got your yellow Samurai that is this picture:
http://www.rocky-road.com/extreme10.html
TIMMY CANE 06-11-2002, 04:39 AM Still have it of sorts.........
It changed abit since that photo - added full width Range Rover axles and 35's about two years ago. Rear wheel steering got shelfed for a while due to British road laws but looks as though the problems are now solved so may have that on it soon.
Moved it into the workshop two weeks ago to put it on a diet. It must have weighed 1500 kg +. Working on a minimalistic carbon fibre body for it at the moment. Looking at a kerb weight of hopefully under 1000kg fully laided with kit. Based on the average other competitors vehicles weighing 2000kg and only using the big Warn Motors on 8274s it should winch pretty fast!
Aiming to have it finished by the end of the summer and tested fully by the first event in November.
