Just make sure you go slow and don't get anything to hot... I believe your supposed to drain the fluid out first to.... And make sure you put some flux spray on things you don't want marks on......

i did mine completely assembled, as long as you have it dialed in correctly youll be fine. I didnt drain my diff fluid but stuck my finger in the drain hole after and it didnt feel like it had warmed up at all. unless youre doing a truss the pumpkin shouldnt be in the HAZ

hp60....so i'm assuming it is...looks pretty cast to me...lots of preheat; but from what i read while searching you can do it with no preheating just don't let it cool rapidly...

Lot more to it than that. Pre-heat, high nickle rod, controlled cooling usually in sand.

Always keep the ground lead as close to the welding spot as posible when welding on a vehicle. It will keep the current close and keep it from running through other parts.
