For those of you interested in attending the ASA4WDC May
Quarterly/Convention here is the information.

Here is the final information for the May Quarterly/Convention.

I have reserved the Catalina Room at the Voyager RV Resort for Saturday May
18 for the Quarterly/Convention. The Voyager is located at I-10 and Kolb
Road exit 270, turn south go 1/2 mile to the entrance.

The RV sites available at the Voyager range from $23.00 to $27.00 each,
they also take Good Sam discount. If you stay two nights you only pay for
one, they have a special, ask about it. Mention that you are with the ASA
and they will put us altogether.

There is also the Voyager Inn located at the site, and the rates start at
$54.00. The phone numbers for both the RV Park and Inn are 1-800-424-9191
or 520 574-5000. The other services are a restaurant, pool, and other
sports.

There is also a State Lands area near the Pima Motorsports Park (PMSP) and
the Pima County Fair Grounds, this is about 5 miles from the Voyager RV
Resort. This will be at Houghton and I-10, exit 275. The road is about 1/10
of a mile past Brekke Road on Houghton, before you get to the fair grounds.
Ihe road is on the left (east) side through a gate (gas pipe line), then
.66 miles down the road to a nice wide spot. It is fairly smooth,
acceptable for motor homes.

The motels in the area are: Travel Inn - 520 574-0191, Wilmot and I-10,
exit. Red Roof Inn - 520 571-1400, and Days Inn - 520 747-8988 or
1-80-329-7466 at Palo Verde & I-10 exit 264.

We will be touring the PMSP as planned on Saturday and Sunday mornings. We
will meet outside of the main entrance to the Voyager at 8:00 am on
Saturday and again at 9:00 am on Sunday. The PMSP park is approximately 5
miles from the Voyager. There is plenty of parking for RV's and trailers at
the park if you want to leave and go home from there on Sunday. It is easy
access from the freeway.

Dinner will be a buffet of barbecue chicken and pork with corn on the cob,
baked beans, red roasted potatoes, rolls/butter, desert/assorted fruit
cobbler and tea or coffee. If you plan on staying for dinner I need to know
by Wednesday how many will be there so I can let the caterer know. You can
reach me at 520 682-0273 phone or fax, or email me. Or you can contact
Joanie Noel. Meals for the delegates are paid for by the ASA, but I still
need to know who will be there for dinner. Extra meals will be $12.00 each.

Sorry for the last minute information. If you have any questions please let
me know. Please forward this email to other interested parties or those
that do not have email.

We had a good business meeting, took care of business, there will be 4 or 5 new trails opened for the Jamboree runs . I wasn't able to stay for dinner or the convention speakers, hated to miss but as always family first.

Which ones. I always wonder why AZ doesn’t have more exposure to 4X4 events. We have some really good trails that seem to be secret play grounds for locals only. Is it because of the dangerous wild life and plants and 120 plus degree weather?

The news about 4x4 stuff here in AZ travels slow, IMO. It's all word of mouth type stuff. Like the Rockcrawl event, if I didn't stumble across it online, I would have never known. I wheel every weekend and talk to alot of people too.
That's good to hear about more runs for Jambo. They definitely need it.
