: NP242 passenger side drop?

I've been trying to find out if there is a variant of the NP242/NVG242 (that's the AWD capable box, 2.72 ratio) that is passenger side drop. Everything that uses it that I've been able to track down (Durnago, XJ, WJ, ZJ) seems to be driver's side drop.

Not sure about the Hummer 242HD, they are vertical and not offset?

Is anyone aware of a passenger side drop version?

Alternatively, anyone know of another relatively small (i.e. not NP203 scale) AWD box that can be adapted to work with the 700R4/4L60?

Thanks.

I can't believe I stumped POR tech heads with this one!

Didn't even get any comments about how lame a 242 is. What the fawk is up with that?:flipoff2: :flipoff2:

Well, all the 242's that I had to deal with were POS's..they were in Hummers and they leaked all the time...However, I never had to change one and for the life of me, I can't remember which side drop they were...I wanna say driver side though...The starter is way big on them and I don't think that it could on the Pass side...Yep, You stumped me...been too long since I have seen one.

I think that Blazers and Surburbans may have had them in 88 and 89 before they went IFS.

I think you mean the 241. Would prefer that box but it doesn't have an AWD mode on it.
