My buddy and i pulled an 81 datsun out of his uncles field, spent some time getting it running again and wheeled it pretty hard for a while. No mods other than whats left of a 3 in. body lift and 31 10.5 wrangler r/t's. Eventually, the ridiculous rust on the cab led to it's demise as it basically completely fell apart and had to be cut off as there was no chance to salvage it. Also blew two cylinders in the motor and obtained another one to bolt on. So now i have two questions/problems.

1) What year Nissan, if any, cabs will bolt onto our truck?

2) We were having a buddy do the motor swap for us as he needed some extra cash, but the dumbass lost the bolts to bolt the tranny to the motor. Any help in finding these bolts without doing it the long way (trial and error) would be great. The motor matches, and it's ready to bolt up, we just don't have the damn bolts.

The cab was the same at least from '80 to '82. I can't think of any differences in the cab in the later ones and I don't think they changed the body mounts until 86 with the Hardbody so as long as you grab the same kind of cab (regular or king) you should be fine. As far as the bolts go, I have no idea. Good luck.

The cabs should be the same from 80 - 86. 1986.5 is the first d21.

2wd and 4wd are the same.

The bolts are either 10mm x 1.5pitch I think. I have some laying around.

I put a 2wd cab on a 4wd years ago. Bolted right up.

If i could figure out how to post pictures on here from my computer i'd throw a couple on of us wheeling it. The picture looks just like ours and we're currently looking for a new cab for it, or a whole donor truck with like a blown motor or something as the wiring harness from a donor wouldn't hurt our project either. I'd like to take the thing to a few fairs and do tough truck races with it as i think it wouldn't do too bad.

I would stick a small screwdriver in the two upper holes and buy some 10x1.5 bolts that long. The lower side bolts go through the block if I remember correctly. I have 3 Vg30s now. Been a while since I rebuilt a L or Z series motor.

I have lots of odd ball bolts from the last 23 years of owning Nissans. Worse case you can get them at a dealer. Probaly special order for a few bucks. I can look up the part numbers if needed.
