My cruiser won't track behind my F150.
Even with my buddy steering its all over the road at slow speeds. (20mph)
What am I doing wrong?

I tried the same thing with my cruzer, and it doesn't flat tow worth a crap at low speeds. The wheels would lock in one direction while turning, and wouldn't self straighten out....:skull:

I am thinking extended shackles and no shims right? Or spring lift?
Usually it will not track well when the caster is off.

Take the cruiser to an alingment shop and get the caster checked out.

Yeah, correct the caster and it will follow you to the end of the earth.

I towed mine for 2 years by bungee cording my steering wheel to the brake pedal.

This allowed a little movement, yet made it return to center when it did not want to.

I also used a bar to lock the steering wheel before I discovered the bungee cord.

On tight turns the front tires would drag, but not too bad.

What can an alignment shop do? Tell me its out.

My truck is spring-over, slightly longer shackels.
No cut and turn.

Can I shim it up enough to tow bar it?

I doubt it. Just try to "lock" the wheel. It works...did it for years.

Lock it straight..... hmmmm....
I can lock my steering. I have a chev column.

If you lock the column, your gonna be dragging the cruzah through corners.... I would venture to say thats a good way to flip your rig on higher speed turns...
I had SOA, shackle reversal with stock length shackles, and the correct caster, tracking was still a problem while flat towing.
How is the alignment shop going to correct caster on a cruzer? Only way to fix that is leaf spring shims, or rotating perches...Only thing they can adjust is toe-in...:skull:

I would use something other than the column lock to lock it. The bungee cord allows for a little play and it works fine on the road.

I did this a ton and ONLY if I were turning SUPER sharp did I ever feel the tug of the front wheels sliding.

There is enough play to allow the cruiser to follow in corners.

Of course, the best thing to do is to fix the caster.

You also need a heavier truck to pull the Cruiser with, an F150
is not enough truck to pull a heavy a$$ Cruiser.

Do like nolen said, bungee the steering wheel.
