Hehehehehe.
So that is where my V-8 has been hiding.
Put a pair of Summit's cheap 4" diameter turbo style mufflers on, to make room for the anti wrap bar. Hmmmm, call me a redneck immature child, but I sure like the sound of that. My old mufflers made me sound like a well, quiet, except for the exhaust leaks, which were decidedly noisy. Not the look/feel I am have been looking for.... :D This is much nicer.
Doesn't have that hard ring of glasspacks, just the low, tonal, guttaral roar of a V-8.
I think my old mufflers may have been too restrictive. They had the pipes necked down where they went into the mufflers to 1 7/8", front and rear of the mufflers. I am full 2 1/4" all the way now, and I have MUCH better throttle response. Should have done this long ago. Got rid of all my pesky exhaust leaks also. Sunshine and a V-8. Gonna be burning up the gas now!!! ;)
Now, I just need to drill for my ladder bar cross member brackets, install the cross bar, clean up the rear axle, weld on the ladder bar brackets (actually have someone weld them on for me, I want a pro on that one), measure and cut the ladder bars, weld on the nuts for the heims (pro), cut and cope the ladder bar uprights, then slap it all together. Plus, new front brake lines, new XC tranny pan with lowered pickup tube, and the shift programmer Summit offers between the valve body and tranny. I really should replace my fuel line front to rear also while I am at it. <sigh> Lots to do, and only a week to go.
