Does anyone know of or can tell me personal experience with DIY beadlocks. I am looking for companies to purchase from. I have heard a lot about Rockstomper. Thanks Rob

Best prices I've seen. Nothing fancy, but they look like they'll get the job done. Just make sure your welds are clean and air tight.

Well i am running a 15 inch steel wheel and am looking for DIY beadlocks for the spring time. How are yours setup? Are they cut at angle to help prevent cutting into the tire? Is there a lip on the inside of the rings to help center the tire? My Jeep is a daily driver and i am hoping to keep it that way for a little while longer. Any information about it would be cool.

I ran shawns for a few trips last year, Excellent product.. Held up fine and mine did not have bolts or nuts with them.

Factor another 50 to 75 with a bunch extra. (I just bought 2 boxs each This way it gave me extras.)

No they don't and that's not my post for $175 sorry. I do alot of custom stuff that guy tends to go the basic cheapest route possible. I have the basic ones also but we try to be more service oriented and tailor them to the customer. Thanks Shawn

We have inner and outer rings the inners sit inside the wheel lip and are smaller on the od than the outside. All my comp guys and myself included just bevel the edge that meets the tire w/ a flap disc this prevents any cutting of the tires. There are no weld on b-locks I am aware of cut at any angle unless you count the junk plasma ones. We have been doing this for 5 plus years by the way. As for the centering rings yes those are an option but not needed if you can read a tape measure. I do run these on my rig on the street but wouldn't recommend it for very high speeds or long distances. Your better off to go the H1 wheel setup which I make parts for also. Thanks Shawn

I used MRW's DIY kit. Bit pricier, but I feel its worth it for a few reasons.

The outer ring is formed instead of flat. Just like ridges on a potato chip make em stiffer, so does the ridge in the outer ring. Stiffer ring can be made out of thinner material, (MRW's are 3/16, most DIY kits are at least 1/4) so they weight less.

Instead of using the bolts to center the tire on the wheel like some kits, the ridge in the outer ring serves to center the tire. The fit between the two rings allows for little if any misalignment.

The kits came with all hardware, including the nutcerts. My old locks I used just bolts with nylock nuts, they worked, but putting them together or breaking them down was a bit more of a pain.

The outer rings come powder coated. This can be good or bad depending on how you like orange. I personally dont, so I just scuffed up the powder coating and shot em with some black. The powder coating does make for a good primer tho, less chance of rust that way. OF course most of its going to get ground off on the rocks anyway.

Got mine from Ken "Go2guy" here on the board, great to deal with.
