No answer, but another question:
How do you keep the diff cover from leaking with the housing fabbed (really nice work) like that?

custom diff cover, I cut about 7/32 from my D44 ding gear. Thety are 5.89s so they are real thick but even then it starts to get kinda scary. maybe not so bad w/ a 60. my ring gear is now even all the way across not tapered out to the teeth.

I took about 7/16" off the radius, down to the bevel cut (about 1/8" larger than the carrier flange). I think randys ring and pinion web site says up to 20% of the tooth can be cut without problems.

Hey Dirt rod...7/16" off the radius?? The radius is half the dia....right? Are you saying that your ring gear is 7/8" smaller than stock. Got any pics?:smokin:

I think if my buddy the machinist takes it down a 1/4" or 5/16" I'll be alright....

No pics of the gear, but that sounds right, I didn't get real exact on the measurements, I just had it cut down to the bevel and called it good.

I grinded down my d60 ring gear 1/4" off the radius and it fits like a nice new shoe.http://home.insight.rr.com/rpark/P5040008.JPG
