The PO installed these crappy " outside the frame rail" headers that hang down waaaaay to low. Might rip them off when I drive over the curbs at the mall!:D
It has a 290 motor swapped in it ( 1985 cj8 ).
Do all AMC motors use the same bolt battern and port shape on the exhaust manifold?
Are there any QUALITY " inside the frame rail " headers someone can recommend ?
What the best stock design to use?

you probably don't have the dog legged ports on the head, and I dont know chit about whats available for those as far as exhaust. I know that for the dog legged heads that headman headers are crap, and manifolds are the way to go. I'd try to find some manifolds if I were you, there on ebay all the time.

FWIW- I have two 304s running inside Heddmans and a 360 running manifolds to dual exh.

Ran Heddmans for years now and did blow out one set. They're cheap so whatever.

Have yet to have a problem with the 360.

If you are interested I have an older set of 304 manifolds sitting around the shop. If they'll work.

Dunno crap about the old fawkin' AMC V8s...not in a Jeep so I never cared.
