I have a 2 bbl on my 289 that is running rich. I want to try dropping down the jet size. I've been skunked at all the local parts stores. Any suggestions?
Ya, you'll probably see this posted in general too because I would like to fix it before memorial weekend.
The early 2100 and 4100 Motorcraft carbs shared jets with the holleys, but the later ones used a jet with too big a thread to interchange. since I don't think even Ford stocks these and I've never heard of an aftermarket supplier then the junk yards the only way to go. you'll just have to hunt for them. :(
Sorry, and Good luck.
Eric
ps, I may have the above info reversed, the memory fades with advancing age. :D

That sounds about right. The holley jets I got have too small a thread. Actually, they look the same, just scaled down overall.

There was a local shop out here in Cali that stocks them from like mid 40's too over 100. they are not cheap thought.
I had to ask like 10 places and drive to 5 others before I found one.
Call up some local speed shops. and ask around. Someone is bound to have a stack under some dusty shelf.

Good suggestion but..... There really aren't any speed shops around, except for the rice racers. I did find some 49s after looking around through my brothers piles. Mine has 51s in it. I'll see how they do. thanks.
