I need some help, I bought a Mean Green Altenator which I put on about 6 months ago and it went out yesterday. The Mean Green altenators are really AC/Delco with a wiring adapter that will make it work on a Jeep.
My dilemma is that I bought a stock altenator to replace it since the Mean Green didnt last long and I am trying to see why with an el cheapo one. The stock altenator has the standard to prong female connectors and the one for the battery and I only have one wire.
Can anyone tell me where the two wires that connect to the altenator (not including the BAT wire) are supposed to go?

The jeep is a 78 CJ5 with a 304. I looked at it again and they mechanic that put the Mean Green altenator on jumped the volatage regulator input into the BAT side (both on the altenator) Is this correct?

Out of curiosity, why would you replace an alternator that has a 300,000 mile warranty with an el cheepo? Contact Paul at Mean-Green (the owner) and he will gladly help you out. All alternators are wound at his business, they are not "rebadged" AC Delco's.
I was just in a business meeting with him about his products this weekend. He's a great guy.

If for some reason it does not work out with Paul
Give Lonnie a call at 919-787-3157

They also build custom alternators.
He is a fellow wheeler and a very nice guy always willing to help out fellow wheelers.

I just got off the phone with Mean-Green, what a great outfit and absolutely the nicest people I have ever dealt with. After spending half the week fighting MSD last week about my MSD 6 Offroad ignition which has had intermittent problems and getting absolutely NO help from them it was refreshing to get the A+++++ Service and support from Mean Green.
I would buy from them time and time again, great people.
Anyway, thanks for the help guys. They are sending me a new one and I will keep you posted on the results, they think it might have taken a spike from a bad ground.
