I am in the middle of putting a YJ body on my CJ and the glass in the YJ frame is completely cracked and I am going to put the CJ glass in, but the YJ gasket is wierd and I can't seem to remove the glass. It seems to be glued on or something and I can't seem to pull it out like the CJ ones.
How do you remove it? It is an 88 or 89 YJ frame and glass. Is there some sort of glue remover or something special I have to do?
Thanks for your help.

Why bother? Your CJ windshield frame will bolt right up...

The CJ frame has more rust and holes then it does metal, just like the body.
Nobody knows?

Are you going to use the CJ dash? You will promptly discover issues with the defrosters if you plan on using them, using a CJ dash and a YJ windshield frame.
If the old glass in the yj frame is cracked already then just bust it out and then see if you can pull the old seal off.

Yea, my YJ frame has one hole it in for the defrost and I am going to cut the other, and then for the holes to the glass through the frame I am just going to drill about eight or so on each side of 1/2" holes and then put the black guiders on.
I tried the ole breaking the glass and then pulling the seal, but no good. The glass is two ply with some plastic sheet between them and it is glued to the seal and won't come off the seal. It is a real bitch. I popped the CJ glass out in about 2 minutes with no breakage, but I can't seem to get the broken YJ off!
Some guys told me piano wire is what the pros use, I guess I will try that tomorrow.
If you guys have any other ideas or agree with the piano wire trick let me know.

If it is glued to the seal and you don't think it (the seal) will be reusable, then just cut the seal with a utilily knife. I did this to get the glass out of a old CJ frame. Make it alot easier.
