I yanked all smog equip off my cj7 and put it the garage.Have not touched the wires yet.Plan on putting a 2100-2150 carb with hei.Question is which wire to keep for distr.Dont plan on using the ign module.Any info would be helpful thanks

All you need for an HEI dizzy is an ignition source from the key switch "run" position. IIRC, it's a red with a white tracer. Check a Haynes manual to be sure on the color.

i hooked up an hei to my 258 a while back. two wires. one for the tach and one for the power (keyed on). thats it. great upgrade by the way. lets you increase the gap on the plugs a lot. anothier thing i did was find a set of 8mm wires on ebay for a v8. real cheap cause one of them was burned up, and now i have a spare:) good luck

if you gut all wires from the engine compartment pertaining to the old carb even the ones into the firewall on the passenger side to the computer you will have a huge bundle going all directions the wires you need are orange green and purple and should come from behind the left front fender around to the distributer and they use round plugs and have to be spliced together after you remove them from the main harness
