i think i might need a new clutch but im not sure. the pedal is really soft and it only seems to grab within the last 1 or 2 inches of travel on teh pedal. goin from 1st to 2nd gear at or above 3200 rpm's it will grind pretty hard but my clutch only has 25k miles on it and i didnt abuse it too badly. some guys said to check to the slave and master cylinders...what do you guys think? aslo if i need a new clutch what would be the best one to buy ive heard good and bad things about centerforces but i want a good aftermarket clutch

The weight of the pedal has absolutely no bearing on how worn the clutch plate is. That's a function of how stiff the fingers are and how much preload the cluctch has. (you'll find out exactly what I mean if you get a Centerforce--you'll get strong left leg--trust me...)
As far as the other part of your problem, "it only seems to grab within the last 1 or 2 inches of travel," are you talking up-travel or down travel?
If you're saying it grabs 1-2 inches from the top of pedal travel that's a good thing. If you're talking it grabs near the BOTTOM of pedal travel (only lets go if you push the pedall all the way to the floor) that would indicate a worn clutch or clutch fluid system that is low and/or needs bleeding.
