First, I searched........

I need some help installing the kickdown(throttle valve) cable on my 258. I have the stock CJ pedal linkage for a manual tranny. I am running a Howell TBI. I have the Lokar cable connected at the 727. I need help on where to install the adjuster mount on the throttle end of the cable. The range of motion on the TBI's throttle is around 3"s. Th 727's cable only moves 1.5"s. Where can I connect the cable so that it matches the TBI's range of motion without limiting it? Anyone got any pics of their setup?

Thanks,
Tom

I'm assuming the TBI's throttle is on an arm. and the outer end moves 3".

If so, just go about half way down the arm, drill a hole, mount the linkage there.

Of course no pics, so don't know if that would work.

the factory V8 linkage is like a long oval with a plastic wheel in the center.

I had one that worked properly on a factory set up. and I drove myself nuts adjusting it, on flat land I wanted one setting, on hills I wanted another.

I always wanted to run it to a knob on the dash I could adjust a certain pressure while driving, and that way the tranny would shift as fast or slow as I wanted.

granted youd have to be AWARE of the adjustment or youd tear the trans up.
