: Drive shaft flange?

I just bought a pair of 74 FJ 40 axles is the drive shaft flange the same as a pickup? Thanks for your help.

I don't think so. The mini truck ds flange pattern is smaller. 74 FJ40 axles will have a coarse spline pinion so you can't swap it with a mini truck.

2 things bolt hole is smaller and not the same patteren. pickup are smaller

Not sure if it's the same spline - but some of the first generation (79-83) Toyota mini's had course spline pinions too. I've run across a few over the years.

Are the drive flanges the same in a 4 cylinder and 6 rearend? Ive got a rear end out of a newer tacoma and the flanges look extremely similar and look to measure out to be the same. I measured it with the cm side on a ruler and it looks to be the same I just dont want to buy 100 in adapters and it not work.

From 09/83 and later they should all have the same pinion seal and companion flange at the diff, 4cyl/V6, until 1998, iirc. They will have identical, 27 spline pinions.
