This is a project a friend of mine is working on, just wanted to show it off and see what you all think and maybe some building tips/suggestions.

It's a scrambler with about a foot cut out of the rear body and the frame shortened up to the rear of the springs, half ton chevy drivetrain, and a 327.
It will have a locker/spool of some sorts in the rear, and will get a roll cage, maybe a snorkel, and will get body work/frech paint. he has 37x13 boggers mounted on black steel-fake beadlock rims.

The terain around here where it will be used most is wooded trails, mud, hills, creeks, no rocks around here.

Looks like a good start. A V8 Scrambler with a bobbed rear end is a very capable rig. Keep up the pics of the progress.

When you say 1/2 ton chevy drivetrain, what are you thinking about? 10bolt/10bolt or d44/10-12 bolt?

Does it matter? They are all about the same strength. They will hold up to mild wheeling.
