hey guys, got my fj60 repaired after my car accident back in Feb. Thanks to those who offered to sell parts to me (I know it was a long time ago), but anyways I have another question. In Feb. when I was doing all the body work (took me about a week and a half because of work and school) I put on some 6 into 1 headers and a weber carb. I thought I would be getting better gas mileage out of the weber, but I went from 11mpg to 7 or 8mpg!!! I can't figure out why. I have checked for vac leaks, tried leaning the carb out all the way (the engine does not die when I lean it out all the way, don't know what that's about), I am using Prem. Gas, and I'm not taking off fast or mashing the gas. Would it be because the carb is a 38 instead of the 32/36? I'm also using a fuel flow regulator set at 1.5.
I know the gas question is a frequent one (and it gets old), but I thought the weber was suppose to be an improvement for my daily driver.

The Weber would be an improvement in performance not gas mileage. I've seen alot of people go back to the stock Aisin carb after tinkering with the Weber's for awhile.
Get a rebuilt Aisin Carb from Jim Chenowith, rumor is his rebuilds are great and meet or exceed stock gas mileage numbers.

Crank your fuel flow regulator up for road work. At 1.5 lbs you are starving the carb making it dump more fuel.
The Weber get's crappy mileage, but I like them off road the best.
The rebuilt Aisin from FJ40JIM@AOL (Jim C.) is a good choice, but you need to change distributors too to make it work efficiently.
7-11 is about right for what you have set up right now.
The 32/36 is too small for the 2F to run efficiently. SOme Bozo somewhere said the F engine needs the 32/36, but the carb on that engine is a 38mm carb!
For the FJ-60, the 38/38 is the way to go as far as Weber is concerned.

Everyone that I know that had the 38MM weber on the F motor ended up rejetting due to the fact that was way too rich and bogged out. The 32/36 DOES work better on the f-motor from what I have seen. Including mine. The 38/38 is a better choice for the 2F.

I was thinking about rejetting it because it is running really rich. It smells like a lawn mower when I crank it up for the first time all day. How do I go about rejetting it.
