I have a 74 Bronco w/302. I bought a new aluminum radiator. I want to know if I can get rid of my mechanical fan and run 2 electric puller fans. Will this cool me down enough for on and off road?

Screw the duals!

get a Lincoln mark 8 fan. those things ROCK!

those Mark 8 fans pull alot of amps so wire it correctly. It will keep you cool though. Hell mount it on the old radiator and return the aluminum.

Do the Mark 7's pull as well as the Mark 8's? Just curious, and I know where one is.

Mark 7's pull a bit less, but still plenty.

Remember this. The electric fan pulls a lot of amps, so a new altenator is required, also, it's loud as hell. There could also be issues with water crossings as well if it gets wet.

remember also that it won't fit without moving the radiator forward! even trimmed down, it's 6" tall at the motor...

There's a better way! I use the stock mechanical fan, stock fan shroud and a 4 row radiator. My EB with a mildly built 302 and a NP435 runs 180-190 all day on the trail. Remember- keep is simple!

Good luck!

BUT - those of us w/ 5.0's can't run a mechanical fan, because we need a reverse rotation fan - and w/ no room for a clutch, we're stuck with a flexfan - which isn't ideal. hence, our search for a better fan! i'd run a solid fan in a minute if i could find one in a reverse rotation config...

I'm running the WH Staggered 4 core with the spal fan and mine stays at 190 when wheelin all the time.(puller, stock radiator position) It does get a little warmer on the highway but doesn't get more than 210. My 5.0 runs some much coller than any other 302 I've had. The only downside to the SPAL fans are price and noise!!! But hey noise and cool or quite and hot? Good Luck, Jake
