What is involved in making a axle from a 2500 6.0 6 lug? I heard new axle shafts? how much do those cost and would it be bolt up, and spring perches in proper location to a 1500

But might be cheaper to sell the one you have and find a 6 bolt SF 14 bolt. I now the Vortec-Max's have them.

why would you wanna do that? your losing strength. if its for wheels sell what you got and buck up for the extra cost. its not worth the strength loss

I would convert the front to 8-lug before I'd swap the rear to a 6-lug. Maybe investigate putting a 2500 9.25" IFS front diff in... If you do, let me know, I've had similar thoughts. The bigger IFS diff will hold a locker, unlike the 8.25"er.

R U Sure? I got a 2000 2500LD chevy 2x4 and i got a 14blt SF 8 lug. i thought they stopped putting 6 lugs on 2500's in 95?

and if it is a 6 lug, it's only gonna be a semi-floater. Find a 14bolt FF easier to come by and stronger.
