Does anyone have any suggestions for carberation? Starting with a 258 1bbl. that would still be smog legal? Damn calif. smog laws!I can't find a new carb anywhere, I can rebuild it but I'm looking for more power. Any help will be appreciated.

The only advice I can give for the carb is to get rid of it and get EFI.

As for your sig, I've got a 56" centered D44 rear and I'm not too far from you. PM me if you want it.

the 1 barrel isn't that bad of a carb, its the 2 barrel thats junk.

I'd rebuild it and see if that helps any, and upgrade the ignition if you haven't gotten rid of that junk pretsolite stuff yet.

I did a motorcraft 2100 swap on mine, it's really the carb off of a 79 ford e van. If you do a google search for it you can find some pretty good instructions on what exactly you need to buy etc. It's an easy bolt up. The only thing you need to fab is a throttle linkage which is no big deal.
